Hilton Honors is shaking things up next year – but for once, the changes are actually in our favor.
Starting January 1, 2026, Hilton is officially adding a new elite status level called Diamond Reserve, and even lowering the requirements for some existing tiers.
So let’s break down what’s changing, how to qualify, and why this new tier might actually be worth chasing.
What Is Hilton Diamond Reserve?
Up until now, Diamond has been Hilton’s highest status – earned with 60 nights, 30 stays, or 120,000 base points (or instantly via the Hilton Aspire Card).
But starting in 2026, there’s a new level above that: Diamond Reserve – a true “top-of-the-top” elite tier.
Here’s how to earn it:
- 80 nights or 40 stays per year
- AND $18,000 in eligible Hilton spend annually
And no – you can’t shortcut your way in with a credit card this time (as far as we know!)
This is designed for people who truly live at Hilton properties – frequent travelers, business flyers, and luxury vacationers who spend serious time on the road.

What You Get as a Diamond Reserve Member
Hilton’s calling this their most premium tier ever.
Confirmable Upgrade Rewards
Diamond Reserve members will get a guaranteed suite upgrade that can be confirmed at booking, not at check-in roulette.
- Works on both cash or award stays
- Valid for up to 7 nights
- Can include premium rooms or 1-bedroom suites
- Bookable up to 11 months in advance through Hilton’s app or site
You’ll get one CUR when you qualify, and a second one after 120 nights – or you can swap it for 30,000 Hilton points instead.
Other Diamond Reserve Perks
- Guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout
- 24/7 Diamond Reserve concierge line for VIP-style service and trip personalization
- Complimentary access to executive & premium lounges – including new premium-level clubs at high-end hotels
- Highest upgrade priority – Hilton says upgrades can start processing 3 days before check-in
- 120% bonus points on every stay
These new lounges are a major upgrade. Hilton has never included them as a free perk before – they’ll offer daily breakfast, evening dining, and full bar service in a more refined setting than the standard executive lounges.
Why This Actually Matters
For years, Hilton’s elite program has lagged behind Hyatt and Marriott when it comes to guaranteed upgrades and personalized perks.
Diamond Reserve changes that, and sets to reward their most loyal members at a whole new level!
