Chase Offering 50% Bonus on Transfers to Marriott Bonvoy Through February 28

Chase just launched a 50% transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy that runs through February 28, 2026. That means every 1,000 Ultimate Rewards points you transfer becomes 1,500 Marriott Bonvoy points instead of the usual 1,000.

What the 50% Bonus Means in Practice

The bonus changes the math significantly on Marriott award stays. For example, if you need 50,000 Bonvoy points for a Category 5 property, you’d normally need to transfer 50,000 Chase points. With the bonus, you only need to transfer 34,000 Chase points to get those 50,000 Bonvoy points.

The bonus essentially gives you a third more purchasing power when you’re booking Marriott properties with transferred points.

When This Transfer Bonus Actually Makes Sense

The big question isn’t whether the bonus exists, but whether transferring to Marriott is the right move for your specific situation. Here’s when it makes sense:

You have a specific Marriott redemption already planned. This isn’t the time to speculate or transfer points “just in case.” Marriott points can be devalued, and you’re giving up the flexibility of Chase points that can transfer to 14 different partners. But if you’re already planning a stay and you’ve checked award availability, this bonus can stretch your points significantly.

You’re booking five-night stays. Marriott’s fifth night free benefit on award bookings is one of the program’s best features. When you book five consecutive nights at the same property, you only pay for four nights. Combine that with this transfer bonus and you’re effectively getting a 67% bonus on five-night stays compared to the standard transfer ratio. That’s when the math really starts working in your favor.

You need to top off an existing Bonvoy balance. If you’re already sitting on Marriott points and you’re just short of what you need for a redemption, this is a more efficient way to fill that gap than buying Bonvoy points directly or earning them through hotel stays. Marriott regularly sells points, but even with their promotions, buying points usually costs more than transferring from Chase with this bonus.

You’re targeting peak season at high-category properties. A luxury property during peak season requires 100,000+ points per night. At the standard transfer ratio, that’s 100,000+ Chase points. With the bonus, you’re only transferring 67,000 Chase points. When you’re dealing with these higher point requirements, the bonus can save you tens of thousands of points on a single stay.

How to Actually Use This Bonus

If you’ve decided this transfer makes sense for your situation, here’s what you need to know:

The bonus runs through February 28, 2026, which gives you about a month to make your decision. Transfers from Chase to Marriott are typically instant, so you don’t need to transfer way in advance of your booking.

The minimum transfer amount from Chase is 1,000 points, and you need to transfer in 1,000-point increments. With the bonus, that means your minimum transfer of 1,000 Chase points will give you 1,500 Marriott points.

Before you transfer, make sure you’ve created a Marriott Bonvoy account and that your name matches exactly between your Chase account and your Marriott account. Also verify that award availability exists for your intended dates. Award space can disappear, and you don’t want to be stuck with transferred points and no available rooms.
