The Amex Platinum Lululemon credit is one of the newest and most underused perks on the card. Cardholders get a $75 quarterly statement credit at Lululemon — $300 per year in free leggings, joggers, and whatever else lives in your cart.
It works online, in-store, and yes, on sale items too. But you have to enroll first (it’s not automatic), and each quarterly credit expires if you don’t use it. Here’s exactly how to activate the Amex Lululemon credit, how to use it, and how to stack it with Rakuten for even more value.
What Is the Amex Lululemon Credit?
It’s a statement credit built into the Amex Platinum Card as a card perk, not an Amex Offer you have to hunt for. You get $75 per quarter to spend at Lululemon, and Amex automatically credits it back to your statement after you make a qualifying purchase.
That breaks down to:
- Q1 (Jan–Mar): $75
- Q2 (Apr–Jun): $75
- Q3 (Jul–Sep): $75
- Q4 (Oct–Dec): $75
Important: Each $75 credit expires at the end of its calendar quarter. If you don’t use your Q1 credit by March 31, it’s gone. It doesn’t roll over. So set a reminder at the start of each quarter.
How to Activate the Amex Lululemon Credit
Unlike Amex Offers, you won’t find this in your offers tab. Here’s how to turn it on:
- Log into your Amex account (app or website)
- Go to Rewards & Benefits
- Scroll to the Shopping section
- Find the Lululemon credit and click Enroll
- That’s it. You only need to enroll once, and it stays active for all future quarters

Once you’re enrolled, any Lululemon purchase will automatically trigger the credit. No codes, no coupons, no extra steps at checkout.
How to Use the Amex Lululemon Credit
This is where people get tripped up, but it’s actually simple:
- Online: Shop at lululemon.com and pay with your Amex Platinum. The credit posts to your statement within a few days.
- In-store: Use your Amex Platinum (physical card or Apple/Google Pay) at any Lululemon location. Same deal, the credit hits your statement automatically.
There’s no minimum purchase required beyond the credit amount itself. Spend $75 or more and you’ll get the full credit. Spend less than $75 and you’ll get credited for what you spent, but you won’t get the remainder back later, so aim to use the full $75 each quarter.
Does It Work on Sale Items?
Yes. The credit works on sale items, full-price items, and everything in between. This is huge because if you time it right with a Lululemon markdown event, your Amex Lululemon credit of $75 stretches even further.
How to Stack the Amex Lululemon Credit with Rakuten
Here’s where it gets fun. If you’re shopping online, you can stack this credit with Rakuten to earn points on this purchase.
Here’s the play:
- Go to Rakuten and search for Lululemon (or use this link to sign up if you don’t have an account yet. You’ll get 5,000 bonus points after your first $50 purchase, and yes, your Lululemon order counts toward that even though Amex reimburses you)
- Click through to lululemon.com via the Rakuten link
- Shop and pay with your Amex Platinum
- You’ll get the $75 Amex Lululemon credit AND the Rakuten cashback on the same purchase
Pro tip: In your Rakuten settings, you can toggle your cashback to earn Amex Membership Rewards points instead of cash. That means you’re stacking points on top of a free credit, effectively getting paid in points to shop. That’s about as close to free Lululemon as it gets.
We track Lululemon’s Rakuten rate live on our Points Stacker Tool. Bookmark it so you always know the best time to buy.
Is the Amex Platinum Lululemon Credit Worth It?
If you already have the Amex Platinum? Absolutely. It’s $300/year in value you’re leaving on the table if you don’t use it.
If you’re considering the Amex Platinum, this credit helps offset the annual fee alongside other perks like the airline fee credit, Uber credits, hotel status, and of course, access to Amex Centurion Lounges. We broke down the full list of reasons in our post on why the Amex Platinum is never leaving my wallet.
Amex Lululemon Credit FAQ
How do I activate the Amex Lululemon credit?
Log into your Amex account, go to Rewards & Benefits, scroll to the Shopping section, and click Enroll on the Lululemon credit. You only need to enroll once — it stays active for every future quarter automatically.
When does the Amex Lululemon credit expire?
Each $75 credit expires at the end of its calendar quarter: March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31. Unused credits don’t roll over, so if you skip a quarter, that $75 is gone.
Does the Amex Lululemon credit work on sale items?
Yes. The credit applies to sale items, full-price items, markdowns, and accessories. If you time your purchase with a Lululemon “We Made Too Much” restock, your $75 credit stretches significantly further.
Does the Amex Lululemon credit work in store?
Yes. You can use it at any Lululemon store by paying with your physical Amex Platinum card or Apple/Google Pay linked to your Platinum. The credit posts to your statement the same way it does for online purchases.
Can I use the Amex Lululemon credit on gift cards?
Generally no. Amex typically excludes gift card purchases from triggering statement credits, and Lululemon gift card purchases historically haven’t counted. Stick to actual merchandise to guarantee the credit posts.
Can I stack the Amex Lululemon credit with Rakuten?
Yes, and this is where the real value compounds. Click through Rakuten to lululemon.com, pay with your Amex Platinum, and you’ll earn Rakuten cashback (or Membership Rewards points if you’ve switched your payout) on top of the $75 statement credit.
Is the Amex Platinum worth it just for the Lululemon credit?
The Lululemon credit alone won’t justify the $895 annual fee, but it’s one of several lifestyle credits that add up quickly. Combined with the Saks credit, Uber credits, airline fee credit, Resy credit, hotel status, and Centurion Lounge access, the perks easily exceed the fee for most cardholders. See our full Amex Platinum perks breakdown.
Do authorized users get the Amex Lululemon credit?
No. The credit is tied to the primary cardholder’s account only. Authorized users can make Lululemon purchases using their card, and those purchases will trigger the primary cardholder’s quarterly credit, but authorized users don’t get their own separate $300 credit.
What happens if my Lululemon purchase is over $75?
You still only get $75 credited per quarter. For example, if you spend $120, you’ll pay $120 upfront and receive a $75 statement credit a few days later, netting you $45 out of pocket.
What happens if my Lululemon purchase is under $75?
You’ll only get credited for what you spent, and the difference doesn’t roll forward. If you spend $50, you get a $50 credit and the remaining $25 is forfeited when the quarter ends. Always aim to spend the full $75 each quarter.
How long does the Amex Lululemon credit take to post?
Typically 3 to 5 business days after your purchase clears. Occasionally it can take up to a week, especially near quarter-end when processing volume is high.
