Chase Points Boost just got its best rate yet, with 11 hotels in The Edit by Chase redeeming at 2.5 cents per point for Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders. That sounds like good news, and for a small slice of trips it is.

But the hotel list already changed once since launch, most other Edit properties dropped to 1.65 cents, and Chase has not published an end date. Here is exactly what the 2.5x tier is, which hotels qualify as of October 17, 2026, and how to tell whether it beats a transfer.

The 11 Hotels Boosted to 2.5x Right Now

As of October 17, the 2.5 cents per point rate applies to the properties in the table below. This roster replaced the original April list entirely, so if you bookmarked Four Seasons Osaka or The Surrey in New York as 2.5x hotels, they are no longer in the group. Chase has not published a landing page for it, so treat the list as secondary-sourced and confirm the rate on the booking screen.

The mix skews toward long-haul leisure destinations with high cash rates: two Raffles, two Portuguese boutique stays, a Six Senses, a Caribbean classic in Half Moon, and a couple of North American resorts in Victoria and New Hampshire. Several are Accor properties, which matters because Frequent Miler confirmed that a Chase Travel booking at Fairmont Empress still earned Accor points and elite night credits. Whether that holds at every chain property on the list is not something Chase guarantees, so check the rate details on your specific booking.

How Chase Points Boost Actually Works

Chase introduced Points Boost in 2025 when it refreshed the Sapphire Reserve and Reserve for Business. It replaced the old fixed 1.5 cents per point redemption on Reserve and 1.25 cents on Preferred with a variable rate that depends on the hotel or flight you pick and the card you hold. Everything not flagged as boosted redeems at 1 cent per point through Chase Travel.

The important mechanic is that Points Boost is tied to the cash rate shown in Chase Travel, not to a fixed award chart. A 2.5x hotel that costs $400 per night will run you 16,000 points per night, and if that same room is $900 in peak season you will pay 36,000 points. The multiplier is fixed; the price it multiplies is not.

Is It Actually Worth It?

That’s a decision you will need to make during booking time, as it will highly depend on what’s available for your specific trip, but there are two more things to know:

The Edit bookings come with breakfast for two daily, a $100 property credit per stay, and the rest of the usual Edit perks, and you can stack the Reserve’s $250 annual Edit credit on top of a points booking.

Also, Points Boost rates change without notice. When the 2.5x tier launched on April 21, Chase lowered most 2 cents per point Edit hotels to 1.65 cents the same day.

The practical takeaway is that none of this is guaranteed. If a hotel on the list fits a trip you were already planning, cross-reference with the cost of transferring to that hotel program. If Chase Travel wins, book it while it is 2.5x rather than waiting.
