The new Delta Amex welcome offer went live on August 27, 2026, and it’s the most interesting thing Delta and American Express have done together all year — a mix of record-high mileage bonuses, two free round-trip flights on one card, and cash back on two others. It runs through November 4, 2026.

What makes this window unusual isn’t just the size of the numbers. It’s that the three personal cards and the three business cards are being promoted with completely different currencies. On the business side, it’s raw miles — 200,000 of them on the top card. On the personal side, Delta is handing out statement credits and, for the first time, physical flight certificates instead of a giant mileage pile. Whether that’s better or worse depends entirely on how you fly.

Let’s go through all of it.

The personal cards

Delta SkyMiles Gold Card

The entry-level paid card is offering as high as 80,000 bonus miles plus a $250 statement credit after $3,000 in eligible purchases in the first six months. The annual fee is waived for the first year, then $150.

That’s a genuinely low bar for the payoff. $3,000 over six months is $500 a month, which most households clear on groceries and gas alone. And because the first year costs nothing, the math on year one is about as clean as it gets in this hobby.

The Gold Card earns 2X miles on Delta purchases, U.S. restaurants, and U.S. supermarkets, with 1X everywhere else. Ongoing perks include your first checked bag free worldwide, a second checked bag free on domestic Delta flights (added in June 2026), a $120 annual rideshare credit that doles out $10 a month after your first renewal, up to $100 a year in Delta Stays credits, and a $200 Delta flight credit if you put $10,000 on the card in a calendar year.

That $10,000 threshold is the catch worth flagging. If you’re not spending that much, treat the $200 credit as a bonus you probably won’t touch rather than something you subtract from the annual fee.

Delta SkyMiles Platinum Card

The middle card is offering as high as 90,000 bonus miles plus a $300 statement credit after $4,000 in eligible purchases in six months. Annual fee is $350.

The Platinum Card’s real draw has never been the welcome offer, though. It’s the annual Companion Certificate you get on renewal, good for a Main Cabin round-trip within the U.S. and to Mexico, the Caribbean, or Central America — you cover taxes and fees between $22 and $250. As of June 2026, that certificate can also be applied toward Delta Vacations packages, which widened its usefulness for anyone who books flight-plus-hotel anyway.

Earning is stronger than the Gold: 3X on Delta purchases, 3X at hotels booked direct, 2X on dining, 2X at U.S. supermarkets, 1X elsewhere. Credits include $120 rideshare, $120 Resy, and $150 in Delta Stays. There’s also a $2,500 MQD Headstart toward Medallion status each qualification year, plus $1 MQD for every $20 spent.

If you take one round-trip a year with a partner, the certificate alone can outrun the fee. If you fly solo, it’s dead weight — and that’s the honest dividing line on this card.

Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card

The Reserve is offering two round-trip Delta Comfort flight certificates and 50,000 bonus miles after $10,000 in eligible purchases in six months. Annual fee is $650.

Delta says this is the first time it’s put two round-trip flights into a welcome offer, and the terms are more relaxed than the usual companion certificate: no blackout dates, valid in Delta Comfort or Main Cabin, good for round-trips within the U.S. plus Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. You need to book at least 21 days out, and you’ll owe taxes and fees of up to $80 per person.

The interesting part is that these are flight certificates, not companion certificates. You don’t need to buy a paid ticket to trigger them. Two round-trips in Delta Comfort on a transcon route can easily be $500 to $700 apiece if you’re buying close to that 21-day window, and you’re getting 50,000 miles on top.

The trade-off is the $10,000 spend requirement, which is steep for a personal card, and the fact that you’re locked into domestic routing. If your dream was 100,000 miles toward a lie-flat seat to Europe, this offer isn’t that.

Ongoing, the Reserve gives you 15 Delta Sky Club visits per Medallion Year when flying Delta (unlimited after $75,000 in annual spend), four one-time guest passes, Centurion Lounge access when you’ve bought a Delta ticket with the card, an annual Companion Certificate valid in Delta First, Comfort+, or Main Cabin, 3X on Delta purchases, a $240 Resy credit, $120 rideshare credit, up to $200 in Delta Stays credits, a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck fee credit, and a $2,500 MQD Headstart with $1 MQD per $10 spent.

Delta SkyMiles Blue Card

The no-fee Blue Card is sitting this promotion out at its standard 10,000 miles after $1,000 in six months. Ignore it for now — and read the eligibility section below before you even think about applying, because opening this one can cost you bonuses on the cards that matter.

The business cards

The business side is where the headline number lives, and the structure is much simpler: no certificates, no statement credits, just miles.

Delta SkyMiles Gold Business is offering 90,000 miles after $6,000 in six months, with the first-year annual fee waived and $150 after that.

Delta SkyMiles Platinum Business is offering 100,000 miles after $8,000 in six months, at a $350 annual fee.

Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business is offering 200,000 miles after $20,000 in six months, at a $650 annual fee. Delta is calling it the highest mileage offer it has run this year, and it’s the one that’ll get screenshotted.

$20,000 in six months is roughly $3,333 a month, which is real money — but for a business running ad spend, contractor payments, inventory, or software subscriptions, it’s often a rounding error. That’s the whole point of the business track: the spend thresholds scale up, and so do the bonuses.

What are these miles actually worth?

SkyMiles are commonly valued around 1.2 cents apiece, which puts 200,000 miles somewhere near $2,400 and 90,000 miles near $1,080. Treat those as rough illustrations, not promises. SkyMiles are fully dynamic — there’s no award chart, and the price of a seat moves with cash fares.

Where SkyMiles perform best is domestic short-haul and off-peak Main Cabin, where flash sales routinely put round-trips under 15,000 miles. Where they perform worst is peak international premium cabins, where you can watch a one-way climb into six figures.

So the practical read: this offer is excellent if you’re a domestic Delta flyer who wants a stack of miles for weekend trips and holiday visits. It’s less exciting if you’re chasing a business-class seat to Tokyo. Frame your expectations accordingly, and don’t let a big round number talk you into a card that doesn’t fit how you fly.

The eligibility rules

American Express applies a once-per-lifetime rule to Delta welcome offers: one bonus per specific card, ever. But the bigger trap is the family-of-cards logic on the personal side.

The implication is straightforward: if you want more than one personal Delta bonus, apply from the bottom up — Blue, then Gold, then Platinum, then Reserve — with spacing in between. If you only want one, start at the top with the card you actually want.

Business cards operate on a separate track with fewer restrictions, so you can generally pursue a business bonus without disturbing your personal card sequence. Amex also runs pop-up messages that can decline a bonus based on your overall history with the issuer, so nothing here is guaranteed.

Which one fits you

You fly Delta a handful of times a year, mostly domestic, one checked bag. The Gold Card. First year free, low spend requirement, and the two-checked-bag benefit pays for itself in about two round-trips for a couple.

You take one big trip a year with a partner. The Platinum Card. The annual Companion Certificate is the product; the welcome offer is the sweetener.

You fly Delta often and want free flights in hand right now. The Reserve, if you can clear $10,000 in six months. Two round-trip Comfort certificates with no blackout dates is a rare structure, and it’s front-loaded — you get the value immediately rather than hunting award space.

You have business spend. The Reserve Business at 200,000 miles is the biggest number on the board by a wide margin. The Platinum Business at 100,000 for $8,000 spend is arguably the better ratio if $20,000 is out of reach.

You’re not sure Delta is your airline. Sit this one out. A co-branded card is a bet on one carrier’s route map, and no welcome offer is large enough to fix a bad hub match.

The fine print worth reading twice

The “as high as” language on the Gold and Platinum matters. Those top-line numbers are targeted, and the offer you’re shown when you apply may be lower. Always read the terms on your own application page rather than the one in an article — including this one.

The statement credits on the Gold and Platinum are tied to eligible Delta purchases within the offer window, so confirm what qualifies before you assume the credit is automatic.

The Reserve’s flight certificates carry a 21-day advance purchase requirement and taxes and fees up to $80 per person, and they’re limited to domestic routes plus Puerto Rico and the USVI. Certificates also have expiration dates — check yours the day they arrive.

And the usual caveat: everything here is an illustration of what’s possible when the timing lines up, not a guarantee of what you’ll be approved for or what any given redemption will cost.

Frequently asked questions

When does this Delta Amex welcome offer end?
November 4, 2026. Delta and Amex have extended promotions before, but plan around the stated date.

Can I get the bonus on more than one Delta card?
Yes, on different cards — the once-per-lifetime rule is per card, not per family. But the personal card family rules mean order matters. Apply from the bottom of the lineup upward.

Do the Reserve flight certificates require buying a companion ticket?
No. These are round-trip flight certificates, not companion certificates. That’s what separates them from the annual certificate the Reserve and Platinum give you at renewal.

Is the first-year fee really waived on the Gold Card?
Yes — $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $150. The Gold Business Card follows the same structure.

Are business cards harder to get?
Not necessarily. Sole proprietors, freelancers, and side businesses are generally eligible to apply. The higher spend requirements are usually the real gate, not approval.

Bottom line

This is the strongest Delta Amex welcome offer of 2026, and it’s structured so that different flyers get different currencies — miles for business spenders, statement credits for casual flyers, and actual flights for frequent domestic travelers. The 200,000-mile Reserve Business offer is the headline, but the Gold Card’s near-free first year and the Reserve’s two round-trip certificates are the ones most people will get more real use out of.

You’ve got until November 4 to decide, which is enough time to check your eligibility, plan the application order, and make sure the spend requirement fits your actual budget rather than an optimistic version of it.
