How Much You Need to Buy to Get the Bonus

You can buy as few as 2,000 miles, but the bonuses only kick in at 5,000 miles. To get the best rate (1.88¢ each), you need to purchase at least 40,000 miles.

For members targeted with the full 100% bonus, here are the pricing tiers:

2,000–4,000 miles: No bonus (≈3.76¢/mile — skip this)
5,000–19,000 miles: 30% bonus (≈2.89¢/mile)
20,000–39,000 miles: 65% bonus (≈2.28¢/mile)
40,000–100,000 miles: 100% bonus (≈1.88¢/mile — the sweet spot)
