Five April 2026 transfer bonuses are expiring within the next two weeks, and a couple of them are genuinely worth moving points for.
Here’s the full rundown of what’s ending and when, followed by my honest take on which ones are worth acting on and which ones you can skip.
Current Transfer Bonuses Ending Soon
The Citi ThankYou transfers to Virgin Atlantic and Avianca both expire today, April 18, 2026. The rest give you until April 30, 2026.
Which Ones Are Actually Worth It
Chase UR to Aeroplan at 20% is the sleeper hit here. Aeroplan routinely prices partner business class to Europe at 60,000 points one-way, and a 20% bonus drops that to 50,000 Chase points for a lie-flat seat across the Atlantic. That’s one of the best uses of Chase points you’ll find all year, and it’s available on plenty of dates if you’re flexible. This is the one I’d prioritize.
Citi TY to Virgin Atlantic at 30% is also excellent in terms of raw points value. Virgin Flying Club has some of the best sweet spots in the business for ANA first class, Delta One, and Air France/KLM premium cabins. The catch is the fuel surcharges, which can run several hundred dollars on some routes and over a thousand on others.
Chase UR to IHG at 70% looks huge on paper, but the ceiling on IHG redemptions is lower than it seems. IHG points max out around 0.5 to 0.7 cents in value even at top properties, and a 70% bonus doesn’t change the fundamental math that business class flight redemptions deliver far more value per point than in mind, but don’t let the big number pull you away from the flight redemptions above.
Capital One to JAL Mileage Bank at 30% is solid if you already have an award in mind. The bonus brings Capital One’s standard 2:1.5 ratio up to roughly 1:1, which is a real improvement. Just remember that JAL accounts need to be 60 days old before you can book most partner awards, though transferring points in can shorten that to around 7 days.
Citi TY to Avianca LifeMiles at 25% rounds out the list. LifeMiles has some solid Star Alliance business class sweet spots, but the program has been devaluing and the passthrough fees on certain partners can eat into the value. Situational at best.
Who Should Skip This
If you don’t have a specific redemption in mind, don’t transfer speculatively. Transferred points can’t be moved back, and airlines and hotels have a history of devaluing without notice. The best transfer bonus is the one that gets you a flight or hotel night you were already planning to book.
