The Chase DoorDash partnership is one of the most overlooked benefits sitting on your card right now. Most eligible Chase cards include a free DashPass membership worth $9.99 a month, plus recurring promos that can add up to $300 a year on the top tier cards. And yet a huge number of cardholders have never activated it, which means they are paying delivery fees they do not need to pay.
Here is how the benefit works, which cards get it, how to turn it on, and the fine print Chase does not put in the headline.
Limited Time: 50% Off a DoorDash Order Through July 14
Before we get into the evergreen stuff, there is a timely reason to activate right now. Chase is emailing targeted cardholders an offer for 50% off one DoorDash order of $15 or more, placed by July 14, 2026, after activating the complimentary DashPass membership.
Read the cap carefully: the maximum discount value is $15. That means the sweet spot is a $30 order, where you capture the full $15 off. A $15 order saves you $7.50, a $30 order saves you $15, and a $100 order still only saves you $15. Do not inflate your cart thinking the discount scales, because it does not.
The offer can be combined with other promos, which is unusual and worth taking advantage of if you have credits sitting in your promotion wallet. It applies only to cardholders activating a Chase DashPass for the first time, and you will need the promo code from your targeted email at checkout. Check your inbox, including the promotions tab, for an email from Chase about DashPass.
Even if you were not targeted, DashPass members get rotating perks through July 22, including up to 50% off select restaurants, FIFA World Cup rewards, and Lyft discounts.
Which Chase Cards Get Free DashPass
Almost every Chase card qualifies for some version of this benefit, but the tiers are very different.
The premium tier covers the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business®, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire®, Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, and J.P. Morgan Reserve®. These cards get free DashPass through December 31, 2027 if activated by the end of 2026, or a full year from activation if you activate during 2027.
The Chase Freedom® family and Slate® cards get six months of free DashPass.
Nearly all Chase co-branded cards, meaning United, Southwest, Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia, Disney, and Starbucks cards, get twelve months of free DashPass. The only cards excluded from the partnership entirely are the Amazon Rewards Visa, the Instacart Mastercard, and the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard, which has its own separate DashPass benefit.

The math on the top tier is real money. A Sapphire Reserve cardholder who uses both $10 non restaurant promos and the $5 restaurant promo every month is pulling $25 in monthly value, or $300 a year, on top of the waived delivery fees. DoorDash says members save around $4 to $5 per order in delivery fees alone. The catch is that promos do not stack on a single order, do not roll over, and must be manually applied from your promotion wallet at checkout. Unused promo value is forfeited at the end of each month or quarter.
How To Activate Your Chase DoorDash Benefit
Activation takes about two minutes. Open the DoorDash app or site and add your eligible Chase card to your wallet. Set it as your default payment method, which is required, not optional. Then click the activation button for the DashPass benefit. If you also use Caviar, the benefit carries over as long as you use the same login credentials on both apps, though you will need to add the card separately on Caviar.
Your membership must be activated with a United States address, and you must keep paying with your enrolled Chase card at checkout to receive DashPass pricing on eligible orders. Paying through Apple Pay, Google Pay, or another digital wallet will not count.
The Fine Print Worth Knowing
A few things Chase buries in the terms that genuinely matter.
Your free membership auto renews at full price. When the complimentary period ends, you are automatically enrolled at the then current rate of $9.99 a month. Set a calendar reminder for the end of your free period if you do not want the charge.
If you already pay for DashPass, activating through Chase replaces your paid membership and you stop being charged. If you are a paying DashPass subscriber holding any eligible Chase card, activating this benefit is an immediate $9.99 monthly savings for doing nothing differently.
Only one DashPass can be active at a time, but here is the play for two card households: if you hold two eligible Chase cards, you can activate the free DashPass on the second card after the first card’s free period expires, as long as that second card has never had its DashPass benefit used. That is back to back free periods.
Each card’s benefit is once per card. If you product change or close the card mid period, your benefits change or end with it.
